IT IS ONE OF HM EI ZRT.’S MAIN LINES OF BUSINESS.

The mission of the Electronics and Informatics Directorate is to provide the Hungarian Defence Forces, the Ministry of Defence and other public bodies with reliable, secure and modern informatics solutions that aid the fulfilment of duties pertaining to maintaining the security of Hungary and our NATO membership. It is the aim of the Directorate to become a top informatics service provider for the Hungarian Defence Forces and the Ministry of Defence. Currently there era approximately 300 specialized employees, including engineers, IT specialists and software developers. The main profile of the Directorate: Provision of basic IT infrastructure, software development, and the development and operation of unique systems.

Provision of basic IT infrastructure

Our main duty is to do technical tasks related to the IT infrastructure of the Hungarian Defence Forces and the Ministry of Defence, complex and large systems or system parts, and individual infrastructure elements.

• establishment of new IT infrastructure
• expansion, renewal and maintenance of existing IT infrastructure
• operation of IT infrastructure
• creation of IT security (virus protection, network protection, data protection)
• carrying out tasks related to planning, implementation and operation (consultancy, ensuring standard procedures, security risk analysis, adhering to laws).

Virtualization and data centre technologies

Local and long-range, software-based and traditional networks and network systems

Built-in security, extensive defence against espionage, destruction and sabotage via cyberspace thanks to secure and unique devices, configurations and secure system architectures that are in accordance with the Zero Trust Model of Security and the Cyber Kill Chain:

• use of EU and NATO certified products
• Common Criteria and FIPS-certified products and configurations
• configurations that have been reinforced in compliance with industry recommendations, best practice and unique demands
• micro and macro segmentation, multilayer defence-in-depth strategy, passive and active reconnaissance, prevention, diversion, exclusion and blocking via border protection, inner and other defence tools, and solutions using AI, traditional detection, evaluation and intervention.

Software development

At HM EI Zrt. the aim of our software-centred activity is to do tasks for the Hungarian Defence Forces which are related to the operation, operation support, development (planning, implementation, education) of the special software systems supervised by our company. Moreover, some of our special solutions cater to the needs of the Hungarian Law Enforcement and other fields of administration.

MAIN ACTIVITIES

• development and operation support of SAP based financial, accounting, management, HR, controlling, logistics and CG systems (HM KGIR)
• development and operation support of HM-MH Reception System (HM KGIR ÜSZR Portál)
• operation of military simulation systems and MILES firing simulation tools
• Development of command and control systems
• MicroFocus IDOL-based text mining, search and analytics systems (Infovadász -Infohunter in English)
• development of electronic records management and authentication systems for military (iEIR) and civilian purposes (Mondoc)
• operation of software used during medical attendance in the HDF Medical Centre (MedWorkS, visualisation, management and controlling)
• internal webpage design, portal development and other types of development for the Hungarian Defence Forces catering to their needs.
